Imbibed with innate love for the country, 1,400 junior and senior high school students and Araling Panlipunan teachers took part in the school – based symposium on Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines and Philippine Cultural Languages in Ugad high School, Echague, Isabela last October 11, 2019.

The one-day symposium organized by the Araling Panlipunan (AP) department aimed to imbibe awareness about the technical know – how of the flag and cultural communities and to inculcate nationalism and patriotism among the students.

Ms. Rose Ann A. Rayo, Instructor I of Isabela State University–Jones Campus reiterated in her lecture the need of having symposia for young learners–“I’ve noticed that some moviegoers at SM cinemas don’t have respect to the Philippine National Anthem anymore while it is being played.” The singing with our national anthem should be treated as a sacred and solemn act”, she said.

The symposium was divided into two lecture series – Flag and Heraldic code of the Philippines and Philippine Cultural Languages that made the students realized the value of their being a Filipino.

The activity was moderated by Mrs. Jesusa P. Baquiran and Mr. Jovelle A. Gauiran.
