ABSTRACT

This study primarily aimed to determine the utilization of MathScore and the Mathematics achievement of grade 7 and 8 students in Our Lady of Peace Academy for the first quarter of A.Y. 2022-2023.

This study is a descriptive type of research. The data were obtained from one hundred (130) student-respondents and were gathered through the use of survey questionnaire. Cronbach’s Coefficient Alpha Test was used to check the internal reliability and consistency of the questionnaire. The questionnaire of this study attained an alpha of 0.935 therefore the reliability was very high. The responses were statistically analyzed using Percentage, Weighted Mean and Standard Deviation, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H test, and Spearman’s rank coefficient of correlation.

The following were the results of the study: The respondents agreed that the utilization of MathScore as a supplemental tool in learning Mathematics supports them on enhancing the skills, understanding the concepts, mastering the lesson, and motivates them. In addition, respondents moderately agreed on the parents’ involvement on the academic learning. There is a significant difference between the students’ achievement in Mathematics (total scores earned in MathScore and grade in Mathematics during the first grading period) and their profile in terms of sex and total engage time in MathScore per week. However, grade level is not a significant indicator to determine the significant difference of the learners on their achievement in Mathematics. Furthermore, there is a significant relationship between the students’ academic achievement in Mathematics in terms of their total scores in MathScore and grade in Mathematics for the first grading in A.Y. 2022-2023. The plan of action was designed by the researcher to further maximize and strengthen the utilization of MathScore as a supplemental tool in learning Mathematics.
