UNDILAPIDATED RUINS

JOSEPH D. TALAY

· Volume IV Issue I

When the heavens showered beauty

There's a country that is only,

Made up of thousand islands

Full of seashores and highlands.

Our homeland was never bothered

From calamities that triggered

Our perseverance and resiliency

Remain constant as we ever see.

Typhoons, earthquakes, and wildfire

Are few disasters from the Pacific Ring of Fire

Filipinos may face destructive trials

Amidst darkness we became great orientals.

Pandemic, crisis and inflation

Made us Filipinos one great nation

In spite of countless adversity

We stood once again in unity.

We may be destroyed and ruined

But our determination will never be dimmed

A beautiful destruction may never be seen

Yet, love and hope create the greatest scene.
