ABSTRACT
TikTok is one of the biggest and influential mobile application in the age of modernity. It provides diverse contents to its users that is greatly significant in gathering information and meeting the entertainment needs of its target viewers. That is why the researchers of this study, aim to know the perception of senior high school students in STI College-Balayan, Inc., regarding TikTok and its influence to students’ academic performance. This study employed a quantitative approach to gather and analyze data. On the other hand, survey-questionnaire in a form of Likert Scale was given to the 30 target participants to answers the needed objectives of the study which are the profile of the respondents, students’ experiences in using TikTok, Impact of TikTok to students’ academic performances, and TikTok used in terms of educational purposes. After that, interpretation of the collected data and calculation of weighted mean and standard deviation was conducted to make a conclusion about the desires of the study. Thus, the researchers conclude that students have diverse experiences of using TikTok, wherein some use it for merely entertainment, but some also use TikTok to incorporate in education. It is also a great tool that can impact students’ academic performance and many students see TikTok as one of the educational tools that can be used in the age of modernity. Through its easy features and accessibility, a lot can access the said app and it is easy to incorporate to educational purposes as well, not just only for leisure. Furthermore, the researchers recommend to future researchers to examine and analyze, the security measures of TikTok as an application for education. The researchers craft a pedagogical strategy model called R.A.S.E. approach that composed of resources, activity, support, and evaluation, as well as own TikTok account to showcase how TikTok can be used for education and what possible strategy may be used to incorporate it on the educational performance of students.
