THE WOMAN’S PARADISE

by: Dr. MARIA ELIZABETH H. LAMAMIGO

Eloisa is living with her grandmother in the province. She loves to read and hear different stories while her grandmother loves to tell stories to young children. Both of them are nature lovers, too.

“Eloisa”, called her grandma.

“Come and join your cousins here. They are going to listen to my new story. Do you want to join?” added Lola Marie.

“Yes, Lola!”, replied Eloisa.

Lola Marie told her grandchildren that she was going to tell a story about a beautiful woman living alone in the forest. She started telling the story.

A long time ago, there was a beautiful woman who lived alone in a forest and her companion were the wild animals in the forest. She loved to talk to these animals who became tame when she was around. She also liked to talk to the different plants and flowers surrounding her. She felt contented about her way of life.

But one day while she was talking to her friends, she saw a man whom she loved at first sight. She couldn’t explain what she felt when she saw the man because after that brief moment of seeing him she didn’t see him anymore.

Since then, she has become lonely and depressed. Her friends were also affected by her condition. They asked her why she was unhappy but she did not give any reply. The woman continued to be alone and did not want to talk with her friends in the forest. Her eyes looked so sad.

One day, she noticed that her friends were so worried about her condition. She saw how affected they were. The plants and flowers started to wither. She thought that she needed to do something until the woman tried to smile and talk with them again.

“I am so happy to have thoughtful friends like you”, said the woman.

“Now, we can play together again”, said her friends.

“Yes, we will do everything together again in our paradise”, said the woman.

After that, the forest became lively again and the woman totally forgot the man she had seen accidentally in the forest. She devoted her time to taking care of all the animals, plants, and flowers in a great paradise she ever had in her life.

“Do you like my story?”, asked Lola Marie.

“That was another wonderful story I heard”, said Eloisa.
