THE JOY IN TEACHING AND LEARNING

MARY ANN A. VERZO

· Volume II Issue II

As educators, it is our responsibility to make the teaching and learning process takes place effectively and to deliver quality instruction to our learners. In performing the tasks assigned to us, it is also important that we are enjoying our work, what matters most in this profession is that we love our work and enjoy doing our noblest job.

I do strongly believe that when people enjoy what they’re doing, they’re more productive. It is because in spite of the hardships they experience in work, they still manage to think and act positively. The satisfaction we can get from our work will make us more effective in achieving the mission entrusted to us as educators.

It is also very comfortable working with a supervisor that is fun-loving and has a good sense of humor. This will make his teachers realize that amidst the challenges being face, they are confident and happy to serve. The positive attitude of the school manager will bring his subordinates a sense of commitment to quality instruction and will boost their morale. They know that they have a school head that manages to smile and find time for his teachers.

As we make our school, our classroom conducive to learning, we must also bear in mind to make it a place where children will have fun and enjoy their childhood stage. Pupils, as kids, learn most when they are having fun. The knowledge, skills and experiences they gain as they learn are very significant and cannot be easily forgotten. What they will remember are the moments they experience being happy learning from their teachers – those experiences will become their inspiration in life to achieve their dreams. As educators, we must plan and prepare for instruction that includes students’ activity and involvement wherein they will find joy in learning.

As a teacher we have given the great power to influence young minds. All our teachings will have a remarkable impact on the lives of every learner. We have to take that rare opportunity to give our outmost care of the greatest gift GOD has given to us.

As an effective teacher, we should take into great consideration the value of creating a workplace where joy and learning flourish together.
