ABSTRACT

This study evaluated the implementation of the Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) program in Tarlac City Schools Division during School Year 2016-2019. Findings revealed that majority of the implementers are dominated by males with most of them having 1-3 years’ experience in the program. Most of the respondents have attended regional seminars and have expressed extreme awareness of Madrasah Education Program policy guidelines. The implementation has been found strong along advocacy campaign, resource management, and on monitoring and supervision of classes. Although majority of the pupils have met the expectations, very high drop-out rate was noted with an average of 11 pupils completing the program in the last three School Years. Inadequate knowledge on the Arabic language was the topmost challenge encountered by School Heads and coordinators while Asatidz were struggling in lesson planning, assessment, classroom management, and ICT utilization. The following measures were recommended to improve ALIVE implementation: provision of trainings on ICT, classroom management, assessment, and lesson planning, and establishment of dedicated learning space for ALIVE classes.
