THE EFFECTS OF PEER TUTORING IN THE ACQUISITION
OF DIFFERENT MATHEMATICAL CONCEPTS OF THE GRADE 11 STUDENTS OF MALABON NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, SCHOOL YEAR 2018-2019

This study applied the quantitative-experimental research design where the respondents were subjected to different kinds of teaching strategies such as the usual lecture method alone and lecture method with peer tutoring. Tests were given after the teaching process and the mean scores of the students were used to determine the effects of peer tutoring in the acquisition of different mathematical concepts of the selected students of Malabon National High School, School Year 2018 - 2019. This action research specifically sought to answer the following questions: How does the use of peer tutoring affects the acquisition of different mathematical concepts of the selected students of Malabon National High School, School Year 2018 - 2019?; Is there a significant difference on the use of peer tutoring in the acquisition of different mathematical concepts of the selected students of Malabon National High School, School Year 2018 - 2019? And how may the results of this study be utilized in preparing recommendations about the use of peer tutoring in enhancing the students’ acquisition of different mathematical concepts?. The respondents of this study were all the grade 11 students of Malabon National High School, School Year 2018 – 2019. This action research revealed that the use of peer tutoring in the acquisition of different mathematical concepts of the selected students of Malabon National High School, School Year 2018 - 2019.
