ABSTRACT

This research aimed to describe the effect of cross-training on physical conditioning of student-athletes in running events. To achieve the purpose of the study, 30 potential student-athletes in running events in Norzagaray National High School were selected as subjects and their age ranged from 13 to 17 years old. The subjects were randomly assigned to two equal groups of fifteen each and named as control group trained without cross-training and experimental group trained with cross-training. The selected variables were speed, muscle power, agility, flexibility, balance, and endurance. The two groups had participated in the training for the period of 12 weeks. Analysis of co variance was used to find out the differences among the groups. The results revealed that the experimental group with cross-training group showed significant improvement on the selected variables among the running events athletes.
