STAKEHOLDERS’ PERCEPTION ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CHILD PROTECTION POLICY IN SAN JOSE ELEMENTARY

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to determine the stakeholders’ perception and implementation on child protection policy in San Jose Elementary School, Tuy District. The researcher employed the descriptive-evaluative research method. The main data-gathering instrument used was the questionnaire. The total number of respondents was fifty (50) comprised of SPG officers with twelve (12), seven (7) PTA officers, thirteen (13) parents, ten (10) classroom officers and eight (8) teachers of San Jose Elementary School.

To analyze the data collected, the researcher used weighted mean and ranking to determine the stakeholders’ awareness on child protection policy. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to determine the significant difference between the perceptions of the respondents on child protection policy.

Based on the findings of the study, the researchers concluded that 1). The respondents strongly agreed that the CPP is implemented in school that promote conducive environment. 2). The pupil’s performance uplifts the welfare of the pupils and increases performance through this policy that the teaching and learning process becomes interactive and shows positive discipline. 3). The perception of the teachers, SPG officers, PTA, parents and classroom officers shows an indication of significant difference among the perception of the different stakeholders and 4). A proposed action plan may strengthen the Implementation of Child Protection Policy in the school.

From the findings of the study, the researchers recommended that 1). The school must establish technical working group that is responsible in the Implementation of CPP of the school. 2). The school should conduct seminars and symposium for the pupils, parents and teachers in in the Implementation of CPP of the school. 3). The school must implement practices and rules to strengthen the Implementation of CPP of the school and 4). The school must prepare programs outside the school to improve stakeholder’s awareness in Child Protection Policy.
