The reality is that school is not an independent body or unit. It still needs the help, support and services of the other relevant sectors and units in the community and society including its stakeholders. There are various and multiple aspects of school development that require the support services, assistance and contributions of parents, community leaders and members, LGU and voluntary organizations and other relevant agencies and departments. These are the reasons on why every school head and leader strives to foster the enhancement not just of the academic and instructional programs and projects of the school but also its socially-oriented programs and advocacies including stakeholders’ empowerment and motivation.
There are several programs, activities and events in school that welcome and embrace stakeholders’ participation and support. These include Brigada Eskwela program, Gulayan sa Paaralan Project, bayanihan activities, clean and green project of the school and other significant advocacies. Parents and volunteers initiate efforts, initiatives and endeavor to render contributions and services in these programs not just for the mere reason that their children belong to such school but most of all because they want to take part in cultivating the climate and spirit of unity, concern, harmony and partnership with the school community. The implications of stakeholders’ empowerment is so profound and in-depth because it does only promote the faster and better improvement of the physical aspects and features of the school but most of the inculcation of positive socially-oriented values especially harmonious relationships between the school and its partner community. Most importantly, students and youth who are able to witness their parents and fellows from the immediate community taking collaborative participation and partnership in school advocacies are exposed to positive social values formation as they too get to imbibe the virtues of bayanihan and volunteerism.
