BASIS FOR AN INTERVENTION PROGRAM

ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine the Shared voices of Typhoon Glenda survivor’s journey in coping with health related experiences after the typhoon in Wawa Nasugbu, Batangas: Basis for an intervention program. From the said research the numbers of respondents were significant for severe symptoms and would likely be higher if moderate and mild symptoms of health related experiences were included. Intervention on daily living, mental health and physical health on parents chances of developing health experiences and promote positive development among the parents, their families and their community.

The researcher used descriptive method of research designed on this study by using the purposive sampling technique. A researcher-made questionnaire based on various references and from the statement of the problem that utilized in this study with the guidance of research adviser and validated by the selected Municipal Officer in Local Government Unit  of Nasugbu, Batangas.

 This research study involved participation by answering two gathering instruments namely profile of the respondents and survey questionnaire the following conclusions were derived: The majority of the respondents are within the range of 21 years old and above with frequency of 165 or 97.6 percent. In terms of gender predominantly females, shows that frequency are 97 or 57.4 percent. When it comes to civil status it reveals co-habitation with frequency of 97 or 57.4 percent. and part-time workers with the frequency of 97 or 57.4 percent. The respondent has good general experiences as revealed very true to them in daily living with composite mean weighted 3.61 (SD=.433), mental health composite mean weighted 3.53 (SD=.491).Interpreted as Very true to me.  and physical health with composite mean weighted 3.50 (SD=.382) Interpreted as Very true to me. 

 There is a significant difference in the respondent perception when profile is considered with p-value of (0.000). The result of the study when profile is considered, The compute p – value of 0.000 in age, gender, civil status, and employment status are lesser to the significant value at 0.05 level of significant. Therefore, the null hypothesis is rejected. This affirms that the respondents have different perception on Shared voices of Typhoon Glenda survivor’s journey in coping with health related experiences after the typhoon. An intervention program was designed by the researcher to enhance the health experiences of the respondents. It is recommended that the following suggestions may help the shared voices of Typhoon Glenda survivor’s journey in coping with health related experiences after the typhoon that medical health personnel, residence, midwives, researcher, future researcher, school administration of Dr. Francisco L. Calingasan Memorial Colleges Foundation, Inc. and student midwives of College of Midwifery should provide proper information and guidelines and be given to the survivor’s for their fast recovery after the typhoon. Implementation of timing and intervention provided by the medical health workers to the typhoon survivors should be served. Local government units should provide community assembly, leaflets, other resources and continuously encouraged, motivated and directed to facilitate good and positive attitudes for the survivors. Implementation of the proposed intervention program is highly recommended by the researcher.
