SELF-DIRECTED PRINTED MATERIALS IN ARALING PANLIPUNAN IN IMPROVING THE ACADEMIC

ABSTRACT

This research examines the effectiveness of self-directed printed materials in Araling Panlipunan materials in the blended distance learning towards the improvement of academic performance of selected Grade 10 students during the first two quarters of the school year 202-2021. A survey was conducted to 70 students to gather the result on the effects on the use of various self-directed blended distance learning materials. There were six (6) sections with 15 students each who participated in the survey. Google form was the platform used to gather the needed information. Based on the results gathered, it revealed that the academic performance was noted progressing compare before. From the interview conducted, there were students shared that they earned good and passing rates among their subject areas as they consumed the self-directed learning materials. Another thing, they cascaded that they were satisfied on the use of modularized materials, teacher-made worksheets in learning Araling Panlipunan concepts. Students made mention that only internet connectivity made them frustrated because it hindered them for timely passing of their requirements. Technology also became an avenue of learning for them since teachers uploaded their materials on it and students easy access them on their own pace.
