NOEL G. MACARAIG

· Volume I Issue I

Masaya Integrated National High School (MINHS) is one of the secondary public
schools in the District of Bay, Laguna. The senior High School Program of MINHS established the Technical Vocational Livelihood as one of the offering strands and focusing in Information and Communication Technology track in the school year 2017-2018, one year after the implementation of said program. In the said school year, there were a total of 51 senior high school students undergone training theoretically and practically from the lone ICT teacher who are in capable and expert technically. Although, the MINHS has limited facilities in terms of number of computer and IT infrastructure, the ICT teacher in the person of Mr. Noel G. Macaraig envisioned that the 51 students could be a skilled, NC II holder and graduate with appropriate proficiencies to prepare their college life, entrepreneurship and work. The teacher started his dream to attain his vision through advance pedagogical strategies like virtual application such as Cisco Pocket Tracer and Oracle Virtual Box which is decribed by Razvan Serea (2019) on his article as a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Not only is Virtual Box an extremely feature rich, high performance product for enterprise customers, it is also the only professional solution that is
freely available as Open Source Software under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2. See "About Virtual Box" for an introduction (https://www.virtualbox.org/). After, four weeks rigid trainings, the 51 students underwent TESDA assessment on Computer System Servicing last March 17, 2019. Fortunately, the senior high school TVL-ICT students obtained a 100% passing rate.
