RESILIENCE DESPITE THE STRUGGLES: THE PLIGHT OF CABUYAO CITY PRIVATE SCHOOL HEADS

ABSTRACT:

The main thrust of this study was to look into the lived experiences of private school heads in the City of Cabuyao Laguna in the time of COVID-19 Pandemic. As an output of the study, a Facebook group named “School Buddies” was created to serve as a collaboration platform among private school heads for the purpose of school and staff improvement as they resume face-to-face operations. The research design used was qualitative with phenomenology as an approach. The study examined the experiences, challenges, leadership initiatives, and coping strategies of private school heads. Using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis, the study generated ten superordinate themes which were; Impressions on Educational Transition, Major Effects of Pandemic in School Operations, New Steps in Response to Sudden Shift in Educational Transition, Supervising Teachers, Challenges in Keeping

Clients, Effects of the Pandemic to School Heads, Actions to Continue Operations, Ways to Lead Staff, Strategies for Improving Teachers’ Performance, and the Use of Effective Marketing Strategies.
