ABSTRACT

Effective communication and collaboration are essential components in the functioning of educational institutions, directly influencing both teaching quality and student outcomes. This research explored various strategies aimed at improving the level of communication and collaboration between the department heads and teachers of Bilaran National High School. Through a research made questionnaires, the study examined the present status of communication and collaboration practices between heads and teachers in the school setting. The research emphasized that increasing the level of communication through regular, structured interactions between department heads and teachers’ fosters transparency, trust and shared accountability. Similarly, enhancing the level of collaboration promotes collective responsibility for student outcomes, encourages the exchange of pedagogical strategies and creates supportive environment for innovation in teaching.

It also helped department heads lead and manage their teams by providing useful advice on how to improve team dynamics and raise student achievement through improved collaboration and communication techniques. The study's recommendations for department heads to incorporate collaboration tools and communication frameworks into their tasks and responsibilities to ensure long-term, sustainable progress. This can be accomplished by creating a tool to identify each teacher's potential and scheduling coaching and mentoring sessions between department heads and teachers.
