POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS USE AS INSTRUCTIONAL AID IN TEACHING

ABSTRACT

The main purpose of this research is to determine the problems met by the teachers in using Microsoft PowerPoint as instructional aid in Teaching Lessons at Padre Garcia national High School. This study employs the descriptive method to determine problems met in using Microsoft PowerPoint in teaching this designed is considered to be the most appropriate in studying the concerns of this study and deemed effective in the analysis and interpretation on data gathered. The tools use to gather data are researcher made use questionnaire based on the real situations inside the classroom. The respondents of this study involved 50 teachers from Padre Garcia National High School. There are 10 male respondents and 40 female respondents. The study revealed that among all the problems met presented, software issues is the primary reason why teachers cannot use computer technology in teaching. Out to date computer software is the leading culprit in this category. Lack of functional computer laboratory, which according to the NICS is the main reason why cannot teach properly computer related subjects, is just second among the problems cited by the responding teachers. Availability of Hardware, personal knowledge and time factor follow in that order. The extent of integration of PowerPoint in teaching at Padre Garcia National High School in terms of motivation on students described as moderately integrated, in terms of presentation of the new lesson is much integrated, in terms of application process is much integrated and evaluation is slightly integrated.
