BASIS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF

STRESS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

ABSTRACT

Physical Activities, Nutrition and Stress are three of the main factors influencing the health status and well-being of teachers. The Department of Education continually implements programs with concern to the health and well-being of the students and teachers. These programs aim to foster proper nutrition, hygiene and exercise to learners and school personnel. Hence, this research aimed to determine the perceptions of Calatagan District Teachers to physical activities, nutritional status and stress level during the school year 2021-2022. The respondents of the study were one hundred ten (110) elementary teachers from region III of Calatagan District namely Santiago Zobel Elementary School, Jacobo Zobel Elementary School, Pedro Palacio Sr. Memorial Elementary School, Tanagan Elementary School, Pacita Madrigal Warns- Mababang Paaralan ng Bagong Silang and Calambuyan Elementary School. The researcher employed descriptive research design which was qualitative method in terms of data gathering. Data gathered through survey-questionnaire were statistically analyzed and interpreted using Paleontological Statistical Software. The findings of the study revealed that the teachers’ physical activity, nutritional status and stress level play vital roles to their health and well-being and must be given extra attention and consideration. Hence, the stress management program should be utilized to guarantee that teachers’ mental health is also a main concern. The result of this study may serve as a springboard for future improvements of the district’s existing programs or plans on the implementation of stress management program.
