PEDAGOGICAL STRATEGIES IN SCIENCE INSTRUCTION TO  GRADE 9 STUDENTS IN LIAN NATIONAL HIGH

ABSTRACT

The main purpose of the study is to determine the pedagogical strategies in Science instruction to grade 9 students in Lian National High School during the school year 2019-2020. The researcher utilized 205 grade 9 students. The following are the major findings of the study. Most of the student–respondents belong to 11-15 age range, male and belonged to 5000 and below family income. The respondents agree in the teaching methods used by the teachers in teaching Science. The respondents agree in the pedagogical strategies in Science instruction such as learning management, time management, teaching strategies, teaching materials and managing of equipment and facilities of the teachers. There is no significant difference in the responses of the respondents regarding the pedagogical strategies in Science instruction such as learning management, time management, teaching strategies, teaching materials and managing of equipment and facilities of the teachers when they are grouped according to their profile variables. There is no significant difference in the responses of the respondents regarding the teaching methods used by the teachers in teaching Science. when they were grouped according to their profile variables. There is significant relationship between teaching methods and assessment of respondents on the pedagogical strategies in Science instruction. The Pedagogical Knowledge Program is designed by the researcher to enhance the learning of students in Science instruction.
