PARENTS’ INVOLVEMENT TO SCHOOL-BASED FEEDING PROGRAM IN BATANGAS NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL: BASIS FOR AN ACTION PLAN

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to seek an immediate plan of action to address the decreasing number of volunteered parents in school-based feeding program implementation. The researcher wanted to determine the parents’ duties and level of involvement in the implementation of the feeding program and the challenges that hindered parents’ involvement to school-based feeding program in Batangas National High School. The receiving end of this study was the learner’s improved nutritional status. To achieve the purpose of the study, the researcher utilized the descriptive method of research and questionnaire as the data gathering tool. The respondents were the school feeding program parents of Batangas National High School. The findings revealed the duties of parents in school-based feeding program and the result was composite mean of 2.28 described that parent  sometimes involved themselves in the said program. On the other hand, employment and household responsibility was seen to be the challenges that hinder parents’ involvement to the program. Based on the findings, an action plan and project  was developed by the researcher in order to attain high level of parent’s participation and to ensure that learner’s nutritional being is monitored and well-taken care of.
