PARENTAL SUPPORT IN RELATION TO THE LEARNING PERFORMANCE OF MULTIGRADE PUPILS IN
TIMBAIN SCHOOL, CALACA, BATANGAS

ABSTRACT

The involvement of the school stakeholders, and parents as one of the key stakeholders, was further underscored through DepEd Order No. 44, series 2015 also known as the Guidelines on the Enhanced School Improvement Plan (SIP) Process and the School Report Card (SRC). Through this the focus of the study is to determine the level of parental support in terms of: relationship between family and school; supervised activities by parents; and participation of parents in school programs, projects, and activities. This will also assess the parental support in relation to the learning performance of the pupils, in terms of: motivation; socialization; and academic performance. The respondents are the parents of Multigrade pupils in Timbain Elementary School, in Calaca Batangas. This research is being done this school year 2022. The study uses the descriptive quantitative method of research. The data gathered were analyzed descriptively through weighted mean, and correlation.

The findings of the study revealed that the respondents strongly agreed on their parental support in terms of the relationship between family and school, supervision of activities, and participation of parents in school programs, projects, and activities. Moreover, it was also revealed that the respondents strongly agreed about their support. In addition, the parents support has a positive impact in motivation, socialization, and the academic performance of the pupils. This showed that there was a Significant Relationship Between Parental Support and the Parental Support in Relation to the Learning Performance of the Pupils. Meanwhile, in terms of the Relationship Between Family and School, there was a high significant relationship in terms of motivation. Thus, a learning activity sheets intervention was crafted based from the results of the study.
