PARENT-TEACHER PARTNERSHIP IN DEVELOPING PUPILS ACHIEVEMENT IN LUMANIAG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

ABSTRACT

The main objective of this study was to determine the importance of parent-teacher’s partnership in developing pupil’s achievement. The respondents of the study are fourteen (14) teachers and fifty (50) parents of the school mentioned. The data gathering instrument used in this study was the questionnaire which was composed of assessment checklist. The data gathered were tabulated, analyzed and interpreted using percentage, weighed mean, Standard Deviation and coefficient of correlation.

The results of the study were as follows: the perceptions of two-groups on parent-teachers partnership in developing pupils achievement in terms of academic and reading performance. The two-groups revealed that parent-

teachers partnership helps a lot in academic performance, and helpful in developing reading performance of the pupils. There was also no significant difference on the parent-teachers partnership when profile was considered. The scheme designed should be applied to uplift pupil achievement.
