ABSTRACT

Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) is a conditional cash transfer program of the Philippine government and a poverty reduction strategy that provides monthly allowance to the poorest of the poor to improve their health and education particularly of 0-18-year-old children. It provides cash grants to poor households based on the condition of said households increasing their investments in their children’s human capital. It was started by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in 2008 and continued in massive scale during the Aquino Administration.

Align with this, research aimed to determine the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) participation as correlates to parents’ participation in school activities as perceived by teachers of Aga Elementary School. This study utilized twenty-three (23) teachers of Aga Elementary School. From the said research, the findings were: the respondents were mostly in the age bracket of 20-39, female, married, and graduated with Bachelor’s degree; the respondents’ perception as to the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) members Participation on School Activities there perceived as “Effective”; the respondents’ perceptions on the parents’ participation in different school activities was “Very Much Needed”; there was no significant difference in the respondents when profile is considered; there is high relationship between Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) participation and the Parents’ participation in School Activities; A proposed action plan was designed by the researcher for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino program (4Ps) members and parents’ involvement in school development activities.
