"MY FILIPINAS"

by: SUMMER AMORA KEZIAH M. DY GUASO

· Volume VI Issue I

I.

Beneath the colors there it stands,

Blue, red, yellow, and white I stan,

I feel so proud to be a Filipino

Even during the warmest days of El Niño

II.

How will I show my love for you?

What are the ways to prove it's true?

I fall short sometimes, yes I know

Others criticize you it's too much, too low

III.

My Filipinas please forgive me,

Realizing you are my home, my family

We are both not perfect, that I accept

I will fight for you until my fading breath

IV.

I will never take for granted my national language,

Even if I travel to places, I can manage

My loyalty will never perish,

My Filipinas, my love for you it's truly lavish!

V.

Endless places to see endless people to meet,

Amazing food to taste amazing challenges to beat,

From up North to down South many languages to learn,

The beauty from East to West for sure heads will turn

VI.

My Filipinas hold my hand together let's conquer,

The highs and lows of life it doesn't matter,

I pledge to honor and respect thee

The language is kept in my heart, and that's a guarantee!
