3. Motivation:

Who among you can give the other similar word for very crowded? Anyone?

B. Explaining to the students what to do:

The Central Staff decided to hold their post-Christmas party last December 30, 2019 .Each contributed some food to eat. To reach the location, some of them rode on a tricycle while others on their own bicycle. They had to cross the overflowing river. However, Mrs. Retarino, their adviser, misplaced her wallet along with the payments of the journalists. She had to repay their money if she failed but was good she found the lost wallet. The staff did undergo games. Many enjoyed the party including the ex-writers.

What event the Central staff celebrated?

How did they reach the location?

What happened to the wallet of Mrs.Retarino ?

If she couldn’t find her wallet, what she had to do?

How was the river being described in sentence 5 of the paragraph?

Aside from the journalists, who else enjoyed the Christmas party?

Prefixes are syllables added before root words to make new words. Note the changes made in the meaning when a word is added by a prefix.

Below are the list of prefixes and their meaning.

4. Eating junk food is dangerous to health.

The underlined words in the sentences above are words with suffixes. Suffixes on the other hand are syllables added at the end of the root words. There are likewise changes in thE meaning of words when added by suffix. Study the words and their meanings below.
