ABSTRACT

A culture medium is a complex mixture of essential elements such as water and nutrients, supplemented by growth factors customized to each bacterium's specific needs for maximum growth and development. This experimental study focuses on the efficacy of LESCOW (leaves, eggshells, coffee ground waste) as a culture medium for Pechay by assessing Pechay height. Various treatments utilizing different ratios of dried mango leaves, crushed eggshells, and coffee ground waste were compared against traditional soil media. According to the study's tabulated results, Treatment A, with a balanced 1:1:1 ratio of LESCOW, performed similarly to traditional soil, indicating its potential as an effective alternative. In contrast, Treatments B and C, with LESCOW ratios of 1:2:1 and 1:1:2 respectively, exhibited significant but unfavorable differences compared to soil. These findings highlight Treatment A as a promising option for supporting Pechay height growth comparable to standard soil-based cultivation, encouraging further exploration of sustainable and cost-effective agricultural practices.
