Abstract – Listening plays an integral part of language learning as it contributes primarily for language expertise. The study aimed to look into the level of learners’ listening comprehension and their comprehension levels. This descriptive-correlational research was conducted in Teofila C. Quibranza National High School, Tubod East District, Division of Lanao del Norte, during the school year 2017-2018 utilizing the Grade 12 – General Academic Strand learners as research participants. The study employed a descriptive-correlational type of research with the use of two sets of questionnaires. The inferential statistics to test the null hypothesis of this study was utilized. Pearson coefficient of correlation was also used to establish the significant relationship of the listening comprehension strategies and listening comprehension of the students. Based on the findings of the study, it was found out that learners’ level of listening comprehension strategies in all three indicators: cognitive, metacognitive, and socio-affective were high and the learners’ listening comprehension levels in terms of interpretative, critical, and applied were moving towards mastery except in the literal which is closely approximating mastery. To test the significant relationship between listening comprehension strategies and comprehension levels, Pearson Coefficient of Correlation was utilized. It was found out that a significant relationship existed between the listening comprehension strategies and students’ listening comprehension levels. The learners’ approach to being able to comprehend well in listening activity was positive. The study also implied that students were well motivated to listen which is an imperative in learning the other macro-skills of language. Based on the results of the study, an implication in the use of different strategies in developing students’ listening skills and comprehension levels shall be provided.
