· Volume II Issue II

This study assessed the Itawes National High School, Tuao, Cagayan teachers’ delivery of pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) using a questionnaire on the three domains of performance behavior of teachers for School Year 2016-2017. Specifically, this study determined the profile of the teachers’ level of delivery on the PCK on Diversity of Learners, Content Pedagogy on Teacher Behavior in Actual Teaching, and Planning, Assessing and Reporting Learners’ Outcomes, the significant difference between the assessment of the teachers and school head, and the relationship between the teachers’ level of PCK and their profile variables. The statistical tools used were the frequency and percentage count, weighted mean and standard deviation, Pair Samples T-Test, and Pearson Product Moment Coefficient Correlation. Results showed that the level of delivery of teachers on the three (3) performance behavior is “Proficient”. Hence, in view of the aforementioned findings, it is concluded that teachers’ delivery in “Planning, Assessing and Reporting Learners’ Outcomes” needs to be enhanced. School Heads need to conduct action research and other mechanisms to determine the areas where teachers need assistance and provide more opportunities for teachers’ self-enhancement activities to improve their instructional competence from “Proficient” to “Highly Proficient”. The proposed action plan must be implemented to address “Planning, Assessing and Reporting Learners’ Outcomes” where technical assistance is needed. It should be included in the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and strict implementation of the plan must be observed. Similar studies must be conducted using the latest assessment tools.
