ECAI secured the safe back to school of the students with Transitional learning. This mode of learning delivery includes three phases: online, blended and face-to-face learning.

As school year 2020 – 2021 opens on August 24, the school strictly follows the health and safety guidelines of IAFT (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases) and DOH (Department of Health) upon implementing this LCP (Learning Continuity Plan). The Office of the Chief Strategic Officer and the respective Principals across all the levels guaranteed that while the vaccine has not been discovered yet, no face-to-face learning will take place; instead, students will engage in online learning modality.

In line with online learning, the academic council proposed the use of synchronous and asynchronous approach. Synchronous online learning describes the presence of both learners and teachers in live discussion using an online platform while asynchronous learning gives students a flexible time to access recorded lessons online. Printed modules and handouts will be provided as free to all the students for their self-directed learning.

Moreover, the school ensured the preparedness of the teachers and the readiness of the learners and parents for this distance and digital learning modality. Upskill programs for ICT-skill based and teaching strategies for the new education landscape were provided to teachers. Orientation in transitional learning for parents and learners was scheduled before the opening of classes.

Early in April, the operation for online enrolment commenced and is still on-going. As of June 11 a total of 743 enrollees from all levels were recorded. This initial count of enrollees is 41.28 percent of the total number of enrollees from the previous year. While enrolment is still on-going, the number of population is expected to increase relatively.
