“I CAN DO THIS: FROM THE VOICES OF THE TEACHER-RESEARCHER WANNABEES”

ABSTRACT

The teacher-researchers usually encountered research constraints that impede them from conducting School-based Action research. In order to address the pressing concerns, the researcher conducted a basic research about the willingness of the high school teachers of Alamada High School. By using the mixed method research design, the study was participated in by forty (40) high school teachers of Alamada high school both Junior and Senior level through purposive sampling method. In addition to this, the Schools Division of Cotabato imposed the Division Memorandum No.437, a. 2021, the Municipal Research Congress which materialized the following objectives: enhance research skills through paper presentation. In sum, the computed overall mean is 3.78 which indicates that the Alamada High School Teachers are Willing to conduct School-based Action Research. Based from the sum of the initial ranks, the following research constraints are: 1. Time constraints, 2. Lack of Confidence, 3. Financial Constraints, 4. Lack of Research Competence, 5. Lack of Statistical Skills, 6. Complexity in Gathering Data, 7. Lack of Reading Initiative, 8. Difficulty in Identifying Topics or Problems, 9. Lack of Research Interest, and 10. Lack of Administrative Support which is closely related to the responses of the participants in qualitative results. In terms of strategies, the overall mean is 4.36 which indicates that the teacher-researchers of Alamada High School are Agree on the strategies employed by them that can cope with research constraints.
