In an impressive demonstration of the community spirit of Balayeños through Ordinance No. 745 also known as BALAYANihan Ordinance, a recent blood drive surpassed all expectations and has a long-lasting effect on the local healthcare system.
The BALAYANihan Blood Donation Program 2024 with the theme “Dugo mong Alay, BALAYANi kang TUNAY”, as part of the 4th year celebration of BALAYANihan, was led by Hon. Emmanuel Salvador P. Fronda II, municipal mayor, Sangguniang Bayan Members, Balayan Municipal Health Office, Batangas Medical Center- Blood Services Team and Provincial Health Office brought together donors, volunteers, and healthcare professionals in a collective effort to address the critical need for blood supply last January 31 at Waltermart Balayan.
According to Dr. Haide Dalawampu-Loyola, Balayan Municipal Health Officer, a total of 95 blood units have been successfully collected from various donors. This blood drive was a great success because of the thorough planning, excellent communication, and hard work of the volunteers and medical staff who made sure everything ran smoothly and safely.
