ABSTRACT

Hazard mitigation and disaster preparedness response are any action taken to permanently eliminate or reduce the long-term risk to human life and property from natural hazards and disasters. These are essential elements of emergency management along with preparedness, response and recovery. This study utilizes descriptive methods of research involving one hundred fifty –two (152) teachers. The following are the results of the study: there are insufficient safety facilities and do not always indicate for its maximum availability for hazard mitigation and disaster preparedness response of the schools. The respondents agree that they practice good hazard mitigation response to their respective schools. The respondents agree that they are practicing disaster preparedness response to their respective schools. There is a significant relationship between hazard mitigation response and disaster preparedness response of the schools. The crafted hazard mitigation and disaster plan is designed by the researcher.
