SCHOOL

CHRISTOPHER D. ESTEBAN

· Volume II Issue III

A student handbook for Sto. Cristo Integrated School for School Year 2016-2017 was developed and validated in this action research study. The instructional materials development (IMD) research design was employed. Phase I of the study was the planning stage which involved the bibliographic survey, outline preparation, setting up of a meeting, distribution of the outline for study and feedback, and writing the second and final draft. Phase II focused on the product development stage which included the manuscript writing and a preliminary evaluation and modification by the panel members. Phase III was the validation of the student handbook by the selected respondents. A validation instrument developed by the researcher based on the essential indicators to evaluate the handbook was used. The results of the evaluation indicated that the student handbook is very satisfactory or valid in terms of goals and objectives, content and overall structure. The final product of the student handbook is a compilation of policies along academic, financial, learning and service support, co-curricular and non-academic policies, and student discipline. Hence, the student handbook which is necessary for the operation of Sto. Cristo Integrated School, particularly in management decisions that affect the students is ready for adoption by the school.
