DETERMINANTS OF ACADEMIC CONFIDENCE AMONG SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Introduction:

The study purports to find out the factors affecting the academic confidence of Senior High School Students in the study of Practical Research Principles in Sucad National High School S.Y. 2019 – 2020. The issue of studying Practical research considers it as a tough situation for them. Students have the problems on their rationalization and clarification in the course of their study presentation.

Method:

The study is a quantitative approach and will use a survey - questionnaire. The study will involve the 28 HE Grade 12 Home Economics senior high school students of Sucad National High School enrolled in the School Year 2019 – 2020. The researcher of this study will use convenient sampling technique in deciding on samples which falls under non- probability sampling methods.

Result:

Academic Confidence Determinants variables, Attendance (X1), Attentiveness (X2), and Verbalization (X3) were excluded in the model since they have no correlation ; to the dependent variable (Grade in Practical Research); and that only Attitude has positive to correlation to students’ grade in Practical Research.

Conclusion:

Outcomes showed the mediating position of the mind-set toward school in shaping the connection among variables and educational success that indicates an immediate impact to senior high school student’s self- confidence.
