DESIGN, IMPLEMENTATION, ASSESSMENT AND MONITORING NUMERACY PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION AT SAN PEDRO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

ABSTRACT

This study focused in organizing the school-based implementation guide in implementing a numeracy program. The research questions were formulated to guide the study, first; 1. what are the teachers’ schemata in conducting numeracy programs, second; what are the difficulties encountered by teachers and third; what methods may be proposed for school-based numeracy program implementation, the researcher concerned is on the proper and organized way of making numeracy program in school effective and efficient. The research is qualitative wherein the researchers gathered comprehensive input from the participants on how they implemented their classroom-based numeracy programs. Responses were analyzed and utilized as baseline data in developing the numeracy program implementing the school based rules and regulations. The participants showed difficulties in implementing the program from the design down to the monitoring phase. Bulk of papers to accomplish and difficulties in monitoring students’ progress are some of the difficulties noted. The research is limited to the development of school based implementing rules and regulation in numeracy program implementation.
