ABSTRACT

A concept for designing and developing a multi-functional desk with drafting and charging features to evaluate new performance, aesthetic appeal, functionality, and space efficiency. This could be achieved through innovative ideas in which non-existing desks would be constructed. This study introduces a computer-aided desk design to improve the concept of an innovative multi-functional desk. This experimental research aims to produce a new desk model and concept that can be applied in the future of design innovation. A school inspired desk design is created using software that significantly enhances the desk components' editing workflow, convenience, and desk preferences. The school inspired desk design, including the exterior and interior, was implicated in the desk which plays a significant role in its functionality and overall performance. This design was evaluated in a simulation process to create an animation to determine whether the design parts were functional and suitably placed. As a result of this experimental research, a multi-functional desk with drafting and charging features was developed that might be used in the future of design innovation. Thus, this study suggests that the multi-functional desk with drafting and charging features could be an effective tool for improving and enhancing creative innovation.
