The effectiveness of the learners’ performance in Araling Panlipunan subject is primarily affected by the teachers. These instructors are the ones who communicate the objectives, utilize strategies, and monitor the improvements of learners. In short, the teachers are the implementers and they are expected to deliver according to the curricular design.
This study focused on determining the level of professional competence of secondary junior high school “Araling Panlipunan” teachers as to classroom management, teacher qualification and experience, mastery of the subject taught, methods, technique and strategy used in teaching Instructional Methodologies, and research extension projects in 56 public secondary schools in the Division of Cavite for the school year 2019-2020.
The total population of the respondents summed up to three hundred twenty-five. There were only two groups of respondents, namely: the school administrators and the teachers. The school administrators were one hundred thirteen, while the teachers were two hundred twelve.
It employed descriptive – correlational design. The researcher proposed a professional training program to capacitate the teachers in terms of content and strategies in teaching the subject in which it is expected to improve learners’ performance.
