BYOD: TECHNOLOGY-INFUSED STRATEGY IN INCREASING STUDENTS’ CLASS PARTICIPATION

ABSTRACT

There is a new trend in education. The use of technology in lesson delivery, instruction, and learning change the way how education is today. The proliferation of gadgets marks the use of technology for education. Students can access online and downloaded videos from reliable sources, can manipulate images and create, edit, and produce visuals using mobile applications, and can search the internet for different reasons.

This study explored the use of mobile technology in the classroom as an aid for instruction. This Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) aimed to increase the participation of the students in an English class. Students were allowed to use mobile phones during the class. Students were instructed to use their phones for the completion of their work.

This study found that the use of mobile technology is effective in increasing the student’s participation in an English class.
