School year 2018 has become a triumphant year as Balayan East Central School received recognitions from respected award-giving bodies, Gawad Balisong and Gawad Kalasag.
For two consecutive years, BECS was recognized for the remarkable implementation of its campus journalism program having been named as Gawad Balisong ‘2018 Best Campus Journalism Program Implementer.
“It is an honor for our beloved school to be the over-all winner in this category, this serves as a testament to the school’s collaborative hard work in providing quality journalism programs for our pupils,” Loida P. Rosales, school principal said.
Aside from this, the school was adjudged the ‘Best School-Based Management Implementer’ in the Division of Batangas.
It was also awarded as second placer during the 20th Gawad KALASAG CALABARZON Regional Awarding Ceremony held at Tagaytay International Convention Center for its outstanding contribution in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM).
Dr. Ana Madel B. Amora, SDRRM Chairman together with Dr. Loida P. Rosales, school principal and Mrs. Chona Baral, GPTA president received a cash prize of P30, 000 and a plaque of recognition.
