Balayan LGU Grants Cash Incentives to Deserving People, Schools and Organizations

The Local Government of Balayan extended financial incentives to deserving people, schools and organizations especially the youth who have brought honor and prestige to the locality.

In an interview to John Albert I. Mapalad, Chairman of Committee of Education, individuals, paired or groups who won first up to third places in sports, skills, academics and other related competitions in the regional, national and international level shall receive a corresponding amount as stipulated in Municipal Ordinance No. 718 s. 2018.

Cash incentives to be given may vary depending on the level and type of competitions.

“Giving incentives to the winners in the various competitions is giving credence to their achievements worthy of emulation by the younger generation,” said Mapalad who is also the principal author of this ordinance.

He further explained that to qualify as a grantee, he or she must be bona-fide student or personnel of the school and resident within the Municipality of Balayan for non-student.

He also added that they must be able to submit a copy of certification or any appropriate documentation of their participation and winnings.

The amount of P300, 000 shall be appropriated from the General Fund of the Municipality as the initial fund for this program to carry out the provisions of this ordinance.
