Balayan East Central School

Ala-Eh WinS is a banner program of Balayan East Central school to join the global movement for handwashing with soap to keep everyone inside the school premises a champion handwashers and toothbrushers to avoid high risk of diseases that impact their health and education due to poor hygiene in sanitation. It was designed to integrate the importance of proper hygiene and sanitation practices with the use of safe water in clean facilities that promote lifelong health for “Batang Batangueño”.

By working closely with the Local Government Unit(LGUs), SDO Batangas and Rural Health Uit(RHU) Rotary Club, Private Sector, BECS teachers and parents incorporated handwashing with soap, proper toothbrushing with fluoride toothpaste, and proper guidance for the young ladies during their monthly periods into regular school activities to prevent the spread of germs and infectious diseases. The role of teachers and parents is especially vital to the success of the program because they believe that the school is often the only environment that is equipped with the resources to expose children to healthy practices.

At present Balayan East Central School implements WinS religiously to make it a habit in their own personal professional life, talks about it among family members, friends, colleagues, shares the goodness and beauty of Wash in School through social media, and encourages other people in the community to join and carry out handwashing facilities.
